What is an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS)?

An uninterruptible power supply or uninterruptible power source (UPS) is basically a battery. It provides power back-up. Anywhere there is an appliance, especially if it is business-critical, a UPS system should be a major consideration. A UPS system will provide emergency power when the power source or mains power fails.

Different to a generator, a UPS will provide almost instantaneous backup, mitigating against the risks associated with power interruptions such as voltage spikes, momentary or sustained reduction in input voltage or instability. All of which can be catastrophic for mission-critical systems and networks and can lead to serious business disruption such as the loss or corruption of files, data, security breaches, injuries, fatalities or simply just costly downtime.

Three Phase UPS Systems

Three Phase UPS Systems are designed for three-phase installation using the full 3 phases generated from the grid at 400 Volts. These UPS’ have been engineered to the highest quality and performance standards to deliver leading edge efficiency. Three Phase UPS Systems are used for high power or large installation areas to power machinery and large industrial power applications. Starting at 10kVA through to 30kVA, these UPS’ come as Online Double Conversion and a considerably smaller footprint than other comparable three phase UPS systems on the market.
