Reducing the possibility of interference and reliability are two areas that our customers are most interested in when coming to us looking for a Ethernet bridge data link – and that’s where the SUB10 Liberator V Series really comes into its own.

The SUB10 Liberator V Series is one of the market leaders with its full duplex Gigabit capacity, meaning large amounts of data can be transferred simultaneously between two points unlike similar systems available from other manufacturers. This technology is an ideal replacement for traditional fibre lines as they can provide substantial cost efficiencies without compromising on reliability. The Liberator V Series uses millimetre wave technology (MMW) which refers to the use of a specific range of frequencies between 30GHz and 300GHz that are then measured in millimetres ranging from 10mm to 1mm.

Sitting between microwave and infrared waves in the spectrum of frequencies, MMW is ideal for situations where there may be a high number of links which could potentially cause interference if transmitted at a lower frequency due to the use of narrow beams. Using a MMW link also provides a more reliable link, particularly crucial for critical links where any down time could have serious consequences, as it is not open to physical disruption as fibre is such as cutting the line during local construction work.

SUB10 Liberator Series transmits at 60GHz which is the optimum frequency level as it is not affected by water attenuation in the atmosphere which can cause downtime. As it operates in the 60Ghz band it is also often licence exempt, therefore no fee will be payable to OFCOM, or is lightly licensed.

Purdicom offers three SUB10 Liberator products, the V100, the V320 and the V1000. All three are compact and versatile products offering excellent spectral efficiency. Thanks to their complex proprietary radio interface, there is virtually no possibility of another system picking up the transmitted data and thanks to the compact design, with all three products measuring 18cm x 18cm, it can be discretely installed anywhere.

The V100 offers 100 Mbps over distances of up to 1600m, the V320 provides 320Mbps up to 1km and the V1000 guarantees gigabit full duplex over 600m, all with up to 99.999% availability. Across the three hardware platforms the Sub10 V series offers flexible bandwidth options for any requirement.
