The Challenge of Modern Network Demand

Switching Your Network Up a Gear: Part One, The Challenge of Modern Network Demand

This post is the first in a three-part-series about the future of Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and the challenges and solutions it holds for today’s network infrastructure. Then in part two, we’ll look into the CommScope RUCKUS products that are Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) compatible. We’ll explore CommScope RUCKUS APs, and ICX switches working together to bring next-generation network connectivity and lastly, in part three, we will discuss the total cost of ownership of CommScope RUCKUS products. Part three, will explore the financial benefits from every aspect of a business, providing a sound business case to take to market.

Many organisations are investing in new technologies, at least one-fifth of organisations are heavily investing in on-demand platforms, Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. Also, trends like Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and next-generation open spaces, means more bandwidth is becoming a necessity for businesses, as the demand for performances on an existing infrastructure exceeds its capabilities.

To overcome this challenge, CommScope RUCKUS provides a solution where the network access infrastructure works together with the AP’s and ICX switches to deliver more to the end-user. This helps businesses to stay ahead in the world of connectivity and networking. CommScope RUCKUS optimised wireless and wired multi-gigabit solutions, gives your organisation multi-gigabit access capacity over the existing Cat 5E and Cat 6 cabling infrastructure, without any disruption.

Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and the future wireless technology can exceed the connection performance of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch ports.  To overcome such challenges, other vendors offer the option to upgrade to 10GbE at the network edge, which means that there will be a hefty invoice and network disruptions.

CommScope RUCKUS stand out against other vendors by providing a different outcome that gives business’s a better solution and is far more cost-effective in the long-term. Organisations then can expand network infrastructures as the business grows.

What CommScope RUCKUS offers their customers are options that include AP’s and ICX switches optimised for Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2.5GbE or Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and future generations technology that have 2.5/5/10 GbE connections.

Existing gigabit infrastructures are insufficient to handle today’s Wi-Fi speeds, and this is where the new Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) comes into action. It will make it possible to deliver LAN-like multi-gigabit speeds over the wireless network and provides quadruple the amount of bandwidth, enabling it to handle a wide variety of data-rich business-critical applications. However, a single Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) deployment can easily hit the 1 gigabit at 100 meters barrier over traditional wired infrastructure. If businesses have old switching infrastructure and a large number of clients and employees with heavy demand, this could create a throughput bottleneck.

CommScope RUCKUS’s multi-gigabit switches and powerful APs work together to enable fast speed connectivity and the ability to meet the demands on the network for now and in the future. To avoid bottlenecks and step into the future of next-generation connectivity, CommScope RUCKUS would recommend capitalising on Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and 802.11ac Wave 2 wireless speeds, using your existing Ethernet access cabling.

In part two of this blog series, we will have a thorough look at the next-generation CommScope RUCKUS APs, and ICX switches working together to provide the connectivity for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax).  The two CommScope RUCKUS products that we will be looking at will be CommScope RUCKUS R750 AP, RUCKUS R650 AP and ICX 7150-ZP switch.

We are a value-add distributor, helping your business to grow with superior network connectivity across the CommScope RUCKUS portfolio. If you would like to find out more about CommScope RUCKUS networks, sign up onto our free RUCKUS Edge: Sales Training Event on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 at 10:30am. This is a different kind of sales training event. We are not discussing technical features for any one product, but instead, we will cover the framework for a superior sales cycle through the lens of the customer.

Check the technical webinar schedule for more details. Over the next few months, we will be covering everything from Security, Wi-Fi, Cloud, Switching and Network Management. All webinars are recorded, and you’ll find the links to all previous events on here too.

Purdicom is still running all CommScope RUCKUS accredited training. For a limited time, this will be running as part of our Virtual Classroom and is available at less than half the usual price.
